List of modes with brief explanation

Modes are often confusing to people. A good way to begin learning about modes is to become familiar with the sound of each mode. Then when you are learning the theory , you will already be familiar with the sound and feel of each mode and have a reference point.

Record each of these modes. Chances are, if you have a cell phone, it has an audio recording application. Listen to the recordings and learn to name the modes by the sound of them alone.
